THE FACTS

#1 Over 2,000 children in Taney County, Missouri are living in poverty.
#2 51.8% of children in Taney County qualify for free and reduced lunch.
#3 In Taney and Stone Counties, over 400 people are counted as homeless.
#4 At least 45 people are living in tents or under bridges in Branson, Missouri.
#5 As of 2009, a total of 1,492 people were counted homeless in Missouri, of these 462 are in Taney and Stone Counties.
#6 As of July 2009, in Taney County 70 children were counted homeless living in weekly rentals, and there were 9 unsheltered homeless ( HUD definition) children.
